Kyoto part 2

Ahhh. Kiyomizu Temple atop a hill and placed upon wooden scaffolding where nary a nail has been used. This photo does not do justice in failing light.

Does everyone fall in love with Kyoto? A city full of magickal energy. Set in another space and time. I'm having a Star Trek moment.

Women in beautiful kimonos nonchalantly walking about and wall to wall temples. It's temple boggling!

I take it someone is not digging the dogs or doggy doo doo. Lots of monks in this stoic fashion. Reminds me of the guards at London's Buckingham Palace. This kind of begging is respectful. No bylaws against this.

Wall to wall or cubic centimetre squared of graves and tombstones, along the way to Kiyomizu Temple, which is atop a hill. It felt crowded with the dead going to the top of the hill and then when I reached the temple, it was crowded with people.

This the entrance to the temple with a massive line of folks awaiting to enter, something I cannot
abide, as a Canadian. So I snuck a peak, took a pic, and left. Now this beautifully painted structure that holds the bell reminds me of the art work in Tibetan Buddhism. I have come across this again at other temples. Very beautiful.

Masses of people making their way to Kiyomizu Temple.

So my taiko pal Marcin says that these are real geishas, but tourist geishas who fork out a hundred bucks or so to dress up like geisha and trot around the tourist area and have their pics taken.

At the bottom of Kiyomizu Temple is another famous temple and in the centre area, an Iaido demonstration is taking place.
